Study Rooms

Study rooms may be reserved by University of Southern Mississippi students, faculty, or staff.

Cook Library has 20 study rooms located throughout floors one through four. Gulf Coast Library has 7 study rooms, all located on the third floor. Room size and equipment varies. For more information or to make a reservation, go to the study rooms page, and use the drop-down menu to select Cook or Gulf Coast Library.

One Button Studio

The One Button Studio in Cook Library Room 205 (LIB 205) may be reserved by current Southern Miss student, faculty, and staff. It is a simplified video recording setup that includes a video camera, microphone, studio lights, green screen system, presentation computer with a remote clicker, live video preview monitor, and a control panel to configure video, allowing users to create high-quality, polished video projects without video production knowledge or experience.

Cook Library Lobby Table

The desk in the lobby of Cook Library may be reserved by current Southern Miss student, faculty, and staff for information tabling events.

Cook Library Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms must be reserved by a university employee. Student group advisors must reserve the room for student group use.

LIB 206AA is a conference room with seating for 12 persons.

LIB 206Z is a classroom with seating for 40 persons.

LIB 209A is an event space with seating for 48 persons.

Cook Library Computer Classrooms

Classrooms must be reserved by a university employee. Student group advisors may reserve the room for use by student groups.

LIB 207 is equipped with 20 computers.

LIB 110 is equipped with 26 computers. The primary use of this classroom is for delivery of library instruction by Libraries faculty. The room may be available for other uses when not needed by University Libraries.

Cook Library Research Carrels

Eighty research carrels are available for rent inside Cook Library. Additional information is provided on the carrel request form.
