Leo Roy Ellis was born in Kansas in 1909, and married Margaret Linnizean Kouns in Los Angeles, CA in 1937. He was an author of many adventure stories for boys, including Nights of Danger (1964), King Rooster (1965), and The Bronc Tattoo (1966). He also wrote books in the Hawaii Five-O series, which were based on the popular television show. Leo R. Ellis passed away in December of 1995 in Orange County, California.
