Biographical Sketch
Judy Broadus Bullock graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with degrees in elementary and secondary education. She taught school in McComb, Mississippi before retiring to write full-time. At a writer's club meeting in Hattiesburg, a local publisher announced that he was looking for a children's series about a southern animal character. Ms. Bullock began researching children's literature at the de Grummond Children's Literature Collection and published her first book a year and a half later.
