A Celebration of Will D. Campbell: Preacher, Activist, and Writer Exhibit Opening and Reception

University Libraries Special Collections invites you to the exhibit opening and reception for A Celebration of Will D. Campbell: Preacher, Activist, and Writer on November 4, 2024, from 7 - 8 p.m. in McCain Library and Archives room 203.

A Celebration of Will D. Campbell: Preacher, Activist, and Writer features material held in the Will D. Campbell Papers highlighting his efforts during the Civil Rights movement including his work with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Southern Christian Leadership Conference, manuscripts of his writings, and the many stories told through his papers.

Prior to the exhibit opening, Brett Harris will give a lecture, “Where Two or Three Are Gathered: Reconsidering Community and Conversation with Will D. Campbell,” at 6 p.m. in Gonzales Auditorium in the Liberal Arts Building. The talk will examine the recurring theme of community and the need for conversation through the life and writings of Will D. Campbell.

These events are funded by the Mississippi Humanities Council. All projects are intended to serve Mississippiana and are free and open to the public.
