
Resource of the Month: Four Libraries Across Southern Miss

On the Hattiesburg campus, Cook Library serves as the University’s main library and contains the principle holdings of books, journals, media and other materials supporting the academic and research needs of students and faculty across disciplines. Also located in Hattiesburg, Special Collections, housed in McCain Library and Archives, is comprised of University archives, rare books and Mississippiana, historical manuscripts and the de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection.
The Gulf Coast Library, located on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach has print and non-print materials that support the research and curriculum needs of the students, faculty, and staff. Founded in 1955, the Gunter Library is located at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs and supports the School of Ocean Science and Engineering, the Center for Fisheries Research and Development, the Marine Education Center, and the Thad Cochran Marine Aquaculture Center.
