Celebrate the cadence and song of poetry at Cook Library during Poetry Month.

Join us for a series of events that include an open mic night, a creative writing workshop, and an invitation to display your original work at the open mic night event.


Schedule of Events:

Open Call for Poetry Month Display
March 20 - April 20

Submit your original poems to be displayed at Open Mic Night. The deadline to submit your original poem is two weeks before Open Mic Night.

Submissions Open March 20.


Creative Writing: Poetry Workshop
Thursday, April 9 | 4 - 5 p.m. | Cook Library 206Z

A generative poetry workshop.

In collaboration with the Center for Writers and led by PhD student Kira Compton.

Registration is required, and seating is limited to 20. Register here.


Poetry Open Mic Night
Thursday, April 30 | 6 - 8 p.m. | Cook Library 209A

Poems read can be original pieces or poems authored by someone else with proper attribution. Poems collected during the open call will be on display at the event.

In collaboration with the Creative Writing Club and Student Poets Association.
