Jennifer Brannock Shares Archival Expertise at IFLA Meeting in South Korea

Jennifer Brannock, curator of rare books and Mississippiana in Special Collections, represented University Libraries and Southern Miss at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Satellite Meeting at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea August 7-8. At the meeting, Brannock presented Archival Alchemy: Turning Students into Exhibit Curators, which was organized by IFLA’s Local History & Genealogy Section, Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section, and Preservation and Conservation Section. The meeting brought together library professionals from around the world to share research, practices, and perspectives.

Brannock also serves as vice-chair/secretary of the IFLA Local History & Genealogy Section, a role that involves supporting the section’s international programming and activities. In preparation for the Satellite Meeting, she managed all paper submissions and served as the primary contact for speakers. She continued those responsibilities for the section’s session at IFLA’s World Library and Information Congress (WLIC), held August 10–13 in Busan, South Korea, where she again managed paper submissions and speaker relations.
