University Libraries is accepting applications for the Library AI Access Program, a new mini-grant program designed to help members of the Southern Miss campus community explore the use of artificial intelligence tools in their academic, research, creative and professional work. The program provides an opportunity for members of the Southern Miss community to gain hands-on experience with emerging AI technologies while exploring how these tools can support their work.
For the Spring 2027 semester, 20 Southern Miss students, faculty and staff will be selected to receive a $150 mini-grant to provide access to an AI Pro tool for one semester.
As part of the application process, applicants will describe how their chosen AI tool will support a specific project or research and explain how they plan to use the tool throughout the Spring 2027 semester.
Applications open September 18 and will be accepted through October 23. Selected recipients will be announced November 6.
