Form of Material:

One DVD copy of a 13-minute film believed to have been made in about 1927 by a member of the Guild Family, owners of the Finkbine Lumber Company in Wiggins, Mississippi. Much of the footage was shot in Wiggins, and the film is circa dated from scenes of brick streets being constructed in downtown Wiggins. Records indicate that the bricklaying began in December 1927. Some of the film was shot from an automobile traveling the road from Wiggins to Hattiesburg, and includes images of a southbound train, woodland scenes, and so forth. Images in downtown Hattiesburg show such landmarks as homes along Bay Street and the Hotel Hattiesburg on Mobile Street.

Copies of this film are also available in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Archives in Perkinston, Mississippi, and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History in Jackson.
