Alumni and Friends

Alumni and members of the general public are welcome in all University Libraries locations and may use our resources on-campus. If you wish to check out books or use other services, please consider joining the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association (alumni) or the Friends of University Libraries (public).

Checkout & Borrowing

- A current University issued identification card, Friends of University Libraries card, or Alumni card is required to checkout items from any University Libraries location.

Circulating collections in Cook Library can be checked out according to the following item limits:

5 items at any given time

VHS and DVD equipment is available for check out from the Circulation Desk for a two-week loan period.

Dry-erase Board Markers are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk. They are due by closing of the day they are checked out.

Interlibrary Loan

Alumni and Friends can request library materials not available at USM from other institutions. Requests can be made by logging into Illiad. Click here to learn more about interlibrary loan services.



 
Research Help

Technology Help

For information about printing, faxing, scanning, public computers, wireless access, and passwords, please see below.

Printing: The University of Southern Mississippi uses the WEPA system. Click here for more information on using Wepa.

Faxing: Faxing is available at the Circulation Desk, located in the lobby of Cook Library. Local faxes are $1.00 flat rate. For long distance faxes the first page is $2.50 and additional pages are $1.00 per page.

Scanning: Multiple scanners are available in the Learning Commons on the first floor of the Cook Library.

Public Computers: 307 PC’s are available throughout Cook Library along with 8 iMac Computers in the Learning Commons on the first floor. iTech maintains a complete list of available public computing.

Wireless Access: Is available on campus. Go to iTech's site for additional information
