Science Cafe on the Coast Presents Prescription Drug Overload: The Effects Medications Have on the Body

Science Café on the Coast presents “Prescription Drug Overload: The Effects Medications Have on the Body” on Tuesday, November 6 at 6 p.m. at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Perkinston Campus in the Community Arts Center.

Dr. Kaitlin Truong, Director of Pharmacy at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, will discuss the signs and symptoms that identify the negatives affects prescribed medications can have on your health. Truong earned her doctorate of pharmacy and bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences from The University of Mississippi. She has more than 17 years of experience in hospital pharmacies, including inpatient rehabilitation. Her professional interest and expertise include infectious diseases and anticoagulation.

Science Café offers those with minimal background in science the chance to meet and discuss issues in a relaxed social setting, and is a collaboration between The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Libraries, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Harrison County Library System, Long Beach Public Library, and Hancock County Library System.
