In an effort to continue to make Cook Library a welcoming space for all students, diaper changing tables have been installed in the men’s and women’s restrooms in the Cook Library Learning Commons (rooms 111B and 111D). The installation of the tables aims to advance the mission of University Libraries to create an environment that fosters the intellectual development and creativity of the University community by providing services, collections, and other resources to meet the needs of the university’s students, faculty, staff, and other researchers in a changing academic landscape.

The diaper changing tables were donated to Cook Library by the Committee on Services and Resources for Women (CSRW) under the leadership of 2016 / 2017 committee chair, Cathy Gulli Ventura. The CSRW is an interdisciplinary group of Southern Miss affiliated individuals interested in women’s issues on campus and in the local Hattiesburg Community.
