Library RSS Feeds
|Current Library News|
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. The University Libraries offers several RSS feeds for use in news readers, as 'live bookmarks' in browsers or as an easy way to access databases or library news from your USM portal or Web CT without even visiting the library's web site. These feeds include Databases and Library News areas.
For more information about RSS and descriptions of various news readers, read the New York Times article, "Fine-Tuning Your Filter for Online Information."*

There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "XML" orange button next to the feed.
